Four players made the “perfect” list in NFL’s video game “Madden 17”. Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, Luke Kuechly of the Carolina Panthers, Von Miller of the Denver Broncos and J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans were all rated at “99” for their player ratings in the EA Sports popular game.
The official site also launched a “new and improved” rating hub where fans and games can search for their favorite players and their ratings for the game set to be released August 23 later this month.
CBS Sports questioned why no quarterback is on the “perfect 99” list.
Aside from the top players, the site also features rankings for the top-rated teams. The top-ranked teams overall are the Carolina Panthers, who lost in the Super Bowl last season and the New England Patriots.
In the National Football Conference (NFC), the Carolina Panthers are number one with 87 overall rating followed by the Green Bay Packers (85), Seattle Seahawks (85), Arizona Cardinals (84), Dallas Cowboys (84), Atlanta Falcons (81), Detroit Lions (80), New York Giants (80), Philadelphia Eagles (80) and New Orleans Saints (80).
In the American Football Conference (AFC), the New England Patriots topped the list with 87 overall rating, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs (85), Pittsburgh Steelers (85), Baltimore Ravens (83), Cincinnati Bengals (84), Oakland Raiders (84), Denver Broncos (82), Tennessee Titans (82), Buffalo Bills (81) and San Diego Chargers (81).
“Madden NFL 17 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 delivers updates to all three phases of football: offense, defense, and special teams. New mechanics and authentic AI bring wow moments to the Ground game, while improved Zone Coverage balances out the passing game. Finally, special teams are brought into the modern era giving you the ability to impact the game in a single play,” the official website said about the game’s new gameplay.
