Man dies from fall at Turner Field

A man fell 65 feet from the upper level of Turner Field and died during a Braves-Phillies game on Monday night.

Just before 9 p.m., the man fell from the stadium and landed in the parking lot, according to CNN. The cause of the fall, if it was influenced by alcohol at all, is not yet known. The fall is presumed to have been an accident.

The name of the man has not been released. He died at Atlanta Medical Center where he had been transported after the fall.

“At this time, there is no indication of foul play and the fall appears accidental,” Officer John Chafee of the Atlanta Police said in an emailed statement, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

There is an investigation of the fatal fall underway and those who saw the incident have already been questioned by police. This is the second fatal fall at Turner Field, the previous one coming in 2008, and the second at an Atlanta sporting venue in the last year.
