Manchester United Transfer Rumors: Henrikh Mkhitaryan has every chance of leaving Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are actively pursuing Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian midfielder plays for Borussia Dortmund and still has a year left on his contract in the Bundesliga. Although Dortmund is adamant on keeping hold of Henrikh, his agent Mino Raiola is clearly letting Mourinho and the Red Devils to keep up their transfer chase, BBC reports.

Henrikh’s agent Mino Raiola considers it a ‘sin’ to stop the negotiations.

“I am a positive guy. If I wasn’t confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn’t try,” he added.

However, Dortmund is not letting the talented 27-year old go that easily after the departures of key players likes Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundongan for Bayern Munich and Manchester City respectively.

Henrikh is Raiola’s second player strongly linked with Mourinho. The first being Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is currently plying his trade for Sweden at Euro 2016.

Zlatan’s Manchester United move has been stalled and is still hanging in the air. The Swede will join the club after Euro 2016 if he does not make the cut for the Olympics.

If the 35-year old does make the cut, he may miss the first two games of the season for Manchester United.

Zlatan has reportedly settled his personal terms of agreement with Manchester United for his 1-year contract, which could extend to 2 in the future. However, he is yet to complete his medical at the club.

Meanwhile, Mino Raiola remains convinced that Dortmund will let Henrikh leave for Manchester United, considering the player is not interested in staying at his present club.

“I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere, but at the moment Dortmund are still saying no,” Raiola stated.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke mentioned that the club wants Mkhitaryan to stay for one more season.

“We at the club actively discussed the option of parting ways with Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of time, and we decided that he should stay at BVB also next season,” Watzke said, as reported by The People’s Person.
