Metta World Peace focuses on China, not the NBA

After being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, Metta World Peace told reporters he didn’t have intentions to play for the NBA next year.

Instead, World Peace wants to play for Yao Ming’s team located in Shanghai, China or play arena football, according to CBS Sports.

“I don’t really want to play for anybody,” he told ESPN Los Angeles. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I want to go to China, coach or play arena football.”

World Peace already spoke with Ming and his interest in playing for the Shanghai Sharks. In addition, he told ESPN that he had been in contact with other Chinese teams too.

“You don’t live twice,” he said to ESPN. “You’re not 33 twice. You won’t be able to play in China at a good level again. I wouldn’t be able to play in China again averaging, maybe, 40 or more points. That would be fun.”

CBS Sports reported that if there aren’t any teams that cap the bid, World Peace will become an unrestricted free agent.
