Tim Tebow will have his scheduled tryouts for multiple MLB teams before the end of August. Tebow might be pursued strongly by the Detroit Tigers based on this MLB rumors.
According to George Sipple of Detroit Free Press, the scouting director of the Tigers will send a scout on Tebow’s MLB scheduled tryouts. Detroit seemed serious in acquiring the former NFL player.
The player’s workout will be held in Los Angeles.
The Tigers are currently in the second spot of their American League Central Division standings. They have a record of 66 wins and 59 losses in the season so far. The Cleveland Indians is in the first place, which already tallied 72 wins with 52 losses.
It might be a good thing for the Tigers to add Tebow in terms of boosting the popularity of the team. But it is really hard to imagine the former football player playing for longer stretches.
If Tim gets signed by Detroit, the team will be hard-pressed to play him at this point of the season. This is true unless he is able to show amazing baseball skills in his workout later on.
Tebow is an ex-NFL player who also had a brief baseball stint in high school. During his junior year, he was able to hit .494 with four home runs, 30 RBI and 10 doubles based on the article by USA Today.
The MLB rumors regarding Tim’s shift from football to baseball will only come to fruition if the player is able to find his way to an MLB team. But the MLB rumors about the Tigers interest in Tebow might be serious for now.
