The 31-year old Brazilian fighter is even upset that her opponent has also to lose weight since the UFC has no division for a 145-pound fighter. UFC guidelines state that fighters are at least eight percent or less of their target weight.

Justino’s nutrition coach George Lockhart explained that cutting down weight has some health concerns as well. Lockhart added that in Justino’s case all signs are good and that he is closely monitoring everything.

“I’m happy with where everything is at,” Lockhart said. “The numbers are all matching up. Everything is going well. She’s good to go for the weight cut.”

The last time Justino cut down her weight was when she fought and beat Leslie Smith in her UFC debut at UFC 198 in May. Since then Justino has not lost a fight and is still holding the Invicta FC World Featherweight title. Aside from Justino, Lockhart also has helped Conor McGregor in his earlier weight loss as well.

Both Justino and Lockhart explained that the road to weight-cutting will be harsh, but they assured that they will be careful in doing so. Justino even narrated that what is helping her in the weight loss is taking birth pills.

What worries Justino is about the use of birth pills as this will be the first time that she is using it to cut down her weight. She tells ESPN that she feels nervous, but the UFC vice president of health and performance Jeff Novitzky noted that they will closely monitor her.

Justino stressed that she does not want the title in the 135-pound division, but to get into “super fights.” She never imagined that it would be this hard to make the weight cut. Though Justino and Lockhart assured that they will make the cut by Friday, Lansberg has been just excited to finally make her debut against Justino inside the Octagon.

Justino will face Lansberg at UFC Fight Night 95 which will be held Saturday in Brazil. This will be the second time that Justino will be fighting in front of her home crowd.
