Former champ Chris Weidman, Paige VanZant goes undercover at UFC fan expo

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman and women’s strawweight fighter Paige VanZant had their fill of fun when they went undercover and interacted with fight fans during the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas.

Weidman posed as James the Janitor, who aside from cleaning the surroundings of the venue interacted with fight fans. To the delight of the fans, Weidman displayed his MMA skills that brought him to the top of the 185 lbs. weight class.

After losing to Luke Rockhold, Weidman was scheduled for an immediate rematch at UFC 199 but pulled out due to an injury. Weidman still does not have a date on the books for his official Octagon return. After revealing his true identity, Weidman gave away the things he used to hide his identity from the fans. Fans were roaring with cheers when they saw that it was Weidman after all.

On the other hand, Paige VanZant went undercover as a Reebok reporter interviewing fans and getting their insights about her performance inside the Octagon. When it was time to reveal herself, fight fans were surprised and were lost for words.

Fans added that she may have been a good dancer in her recent gig with the “Dancing with the Stars,” wherein she finished as runner-up, they would still love to see her fight inside the Octagon.

VanZant also asked a number of people attending the event to identify UFC fighters by their pictures and had some fun with many of them, including surprising a young kid by revealing her true identity. VanZant is said to return to action later this year as she will be pitted against Bec Rawlings at UFC on FOX 21.

Both Weidman and VanZant took part in the two-day UFC Fan Expo wherein fans celebrated their passion for the fastest growing sport through participation in exhibitions, fighter’s autograph, fighter meet and greet, and training sessions, fan-inspired special events and competitions.
