UFC: Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier gives reaction to Brock Lesnar being included in UFC 200

UFC light heavyweight interim champion Jon Jones and current champion Daniel Cormier are both elated to have former undisputed heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar as part of their under card for UFC 200 this July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

UFC light heavyweight interim champion Jon Jones and current champion Daniel Cormier are both ecstatic to have former undisputed heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar as part of their undercard for UFC 200 this July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Both Jones and Cormier noted that with Lesnar listed on the undercard further boost ticket and pay-per-view sales earning them, added purse by the end of the night. Lesnar’s return to the UFC comes as a “one-off performance” that the WWE granted since The Beast is still under contract with the WWE. For Jones, it comes as some good news for his cause to unify the light heavyweight division after he beats Cormier.

“Well if you want me, to be honest, I’m wondering how many millions that added to my purse,” Jones stated on Twitter.

Lesnar will take on Mark “the Super Samoan” Hunt, who was earlier reported to have received a call from UFC president Dana White that he will be featured in UFC 200. Hunt was expecting a rematch with Brazilian Junior dos Santos but was given Lesnar as his next opponent. A win for Hunt will earn him a push in the division rankings while a win for Lesnar will give him another run in the UFC after he walked away from the Octagon back in 2011.

Like Lesnar, Jones is also gunning to reclaim what was rightfully his as he faces current light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier. Jones has waited for the time to come for him to beat Cormier again since they fought at UFC 182, wherein he beats Cormier by unanimous decision.

For Cormier, having Lesnar as part of the fight card is like having Christmas early with the expected ticket sales as well.

“Happy we’re getting paid. Merry Christmas,” Cormier added.

On the other hand, Cormier answered back the post made by Jones as regards to his custom-made heavy bag issue and stated that he would make sure that the title remains with him by the end of the fight night and that he will beat the Hell out of Jones, whom he called a “junkie.”

“I smashed 2 of ur favorite fighters and I’m gonna beat ur favorite junkie. It’s real as they get. #justwatch,” Cormier stated.

UFC 200 is getting interesting with Brock Lesnar on the card, but the more interesting is to witness who will emerge as the winner in the much-anticipated rematch between Jones against Cormier.
