UFC: Jon Jones delivers stern warning to Daniel Cormier, ‘Don’t pull out again’

Jon Jones advises Daniel Cormier to pick his fights properly and pens his UFC 200 opponent not to “pull out again” of their scheduled unification bout on July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Jones was referring to a recent post by Cormier wherein the current light heavyweight was slapping a custom-made heavy bag that has the picture of Jones, who is the interim light heavyweight champion. In response, Jones also posted on his social media account to which he referred Cormier as “paper champ.”

“It’s good to see you enjoying your last days as paper champ Daniel. I was actually planning on leaving you alone and letting you enjoy them with your family, then you had to go and put this weird shit on the Internet,” Jones stated.

“It’s obvious I’m balls deep in your head right now, but you can pause with all that groping there pussy boy. You’ll be getting your ass kicked soon enough, just really hoping these aren’t your tactics for UFC 200. See you soon buddy, train smart. Don’t need you pulling out again.”

Jones hopes that Cormier will have no more excuses to make when they meet, the way he did when they were scheduled to meet last April 23. It was at that time that Cormier pulled off their scheduled meeting and was replaced by Ovince Saint-Preux, whom Jones beat by unanimous decision. Now Jones wants to make sure Cormier will be ready when he pounds him inside the Octagon in their much-anticipated rematch.

Jones had no plans of countering Cormier’s antics, but perhaps he realized that the truce has been broken with the current champ’s foil to psych him out, which did not work. Jones added that with Cormier post, it only means that he is already inside his head and that Jones claimed the victory of their mind games as early as now after signing his message with “the actual light heavyweight champion”.

Jones defeated Cormier at UFC 182 in 2015, however, he was stripped of the title after an arrest stemming from a traffic accident and Cormier won the vacant belt. Both fighters have more than a month to prepare for their much-anticipated rematch and Jones could not wait any longer to reclaim the title which he claims is rightfully his.
