UFC middleweight fighter Josh Samman is in critical condition after he was found unconscious in South Florida, Friday morning. The Ultimate Fighter contestant was also found alongside his friend and roommate Troy Kirkingburg who was pronounced dead after arriving at a South Florida hospital.

It is still unclear what caused the condition of the two men, but there has already been an outpour of support for their families. A fundraiser was even set on Wednesday to raise donations as aid for the family of Kirkingburg.

Adam Corey, a close friend of Kirkingburg and owner of Mint Lounge/The Edison Restaurant even invited fans and friends of the MMA announcer “to gather in memory and support of these two individuals,” through Facebook.

Meanwhile, well-wishes and prayers are being offered for the recovery of Samman.

“We are just sitting here with held breath hoping for the best and praying. It kind of hit us all right in the teeth,” fellow MMA fighter Sky Rudloe said. “There’s not enough good stuff to say about the both of them. He (Samman) is a tough guy, he fights through things. We are all hoping he comes through.”

Another announcer, Christopher Rothstein also shared his sadness about the news of his colleague’s passing and Samman’s condition.

“My friend Josh Samman who was with Troy, is in the hospital fighting for his life,in intensive care,in a coma, on a respirator,” wrote Rothstein on his Facebook page. “Hard to think about the situation without tears coming to my eyes. Josh has been through some incredibly hard things over the last few years.”

Samman also lost his girlfriend Hailey Bevis in 2013 to a single-car crash. Somehow Samman somehow felt responsible for the accident as the two were texting each other while Bevis was driving.

After some time off from the UFC, Josh Samman earned one of the fight promotion company’s greatest knockouts. On the day of his girlfriend’s birthday, Samman unleashed an incredible kick to knockout Eddie Gordon at UFC 181, bringing about one of the most emotional wins in UFC history.

Here’s the kick from the talented Samman.

Our prayers go out to his and Kirkingburg’s families.
