UFC strawweight fighter Paige VanZant takes a break and enjoys the beaches of Mexico as she dispels rumors of her future and stresses that she could not wait to come back for a fight inside the Octagon.
VanZant was spotted hanging on the beaches of Mexico and even posted a picture. It was noted that she is doing a mini part in the upcoming action flick “Kickboxer: Retaliation,” which part of the film saga that originally starred Sean Claude Van Damme. But VanZant stated that she is not exchanging her mixed martial arts career for Hollywood.
In an interview with “UFC Tonight” as reported by Fox Sports, VanZant stated that she cannot wait to make her UFC comeback and she just wants to be physically prepared for her much awaited comeback.
“I’m jumping head-first back in the fight world. I miss this so much. I know how much I want to get back in there so I think for me, I have to remind myself to be patient and take a fight when I’m ready. Because mentally, I’m ready, I just have to make sure I’m physically ready as well,” VanZant said.
Aside from doing acting commitments, holding VanZant’s Octagon comeback is her other obligation and that is with the reality TV show “Dancing with the Stars.” But the 22-year old Dundee, Oregon native explained that she is itching to get back inside the Octagon and prove her worth.
“For me, I’m just itching to get back in the cage. I feel like that’s how it was for my first UFC fight. I took a long time off, I was out for a very long time before my first UFC fight and I just wanted to get back in there. I feel that same thing right now. I want to get back in the cage. I’m going to put 100 percent in my fight because I put 100 percent into every opportunity that comes my way,” VanZant explained.
Aside from working on her UFC comeback, VanZant is also being considered by the WWE for a SummerSlam gig after they gave Brock Lesnar a “one-off opportunity” to fight at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt. No official word yet as to what VanZant’s role will be in and if both the WWE and UFC have already agreed to the request because aside from VanZant, the WWE is also requesting an appearance from Ronda Rousey as well.
