UFC Rumors: Stipe Miocic willing to give Jon Jones a chance to fight him?

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has just finished his first title defense and he can’t wait to return inside the Octagon again. Rumors are swirling that Miocic wants to give Jon Jones the chance to fight him.

Low Kick reported that Jones has thought of jumping to the heavyweight division before and looks like he will get a warm welcome. TMZ Sports managed to interview Miocic who stated that he is willing to fight Jones. The heavyweight champs look at Jones as “nice guy” and once he heals up would love to seal the deal.

However, Jones still has to face a possible two-year ban after he got flagged by USADA for use of banned substance. The incident had Jones pull out from his supposed rematch with light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200. But Jones is happy to note that positive news could be seen on the horizon as he waits for his case be resolved.

Jones tweeted after watching how Miocic disposes Alistair Overeem at UFC 203 and has all respect for the champ. He added that it would be a challenge to face him inside the Octagon if the UFC would let it.

“I’m starting to realize the hype is real with that guy. He’s legit, it would be the challenge of a lifetime,” Jones said.

Now, Miocic returns the favor and would want to fight Jones. However, Miocic leaves everything to UFC president Dana White to decide on the matter. But for Miocic is ready to face anyone and has all praise for Jones as well.

If his anti-doping does not prosper Jones plans to settle his issues with Cormier then would grab the opportunity to fight Miocic at the heavyweight division. As Jones continues with his plan, Miocic will just have to heal first and then wait till what the UFC would offer for his next title defense. Hopefully, a Miocic vs. Jones would bring the house down in the future.
