With Mr Robot Season 2 over, what’s next for the fsociety in season 3?

Mr. Robot season two has just blindsided fans recently with its shocking season finale that left the viewers wondering what will happen to the main protagonist and the fsociety.

Following the shocking turn of events in season two, Elliot (Rami Malek) finally knows what stage 2 is: a bomb plot collaborated between the Dark Army, Whiterose (BD Wong), fsociety,  and Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom), who is a real person and not a figment of Elliot’s imagination. The mission was to level an E Corp building which houses the paper records and database that was destroyed in the 5/9 Hack, regardless of the innocent lives lost.

Elliot tries to stop the plan but he is shot in the gut by Tyrell with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) doing nothing to prevent it from happening.  Elliot finally unmasked the villain: his father figure, if not his actual father, Mr. Robot, who has indeed been driving toward a destructive plan without Elliot’s knowledge.

Elliot is not yet dead, but he is not doing well either. He is bleeding everywhere and the FBI is onto him as well. It is also a good thing that the plan did not happen as both Darlene (Carly Chaikin) and Dom DiPierro (Grace Gummer) were on the E Corp’s building floor devoted to the FBI team investigating the hack.

According to an interview with Sam Esmail, Mr. Robot‘s creator, Angela Moss (Portia Doubleday) is the key to Elliot’s fate in the upcoming season 3, with her involvement with Elliot and the fsociety and now being a committed member of the Dark Army. She has been a mystery and with season 3 underway, hopes to answer the questions surrounding her character.

The creator also reiterate that the show is all about Elliot’s journey saying, “This is really about Elliot’s journey. The first season being the realization and awareness of who Mr. Robot is and how he pertains to Elliot. The second season was the battle: “Can I get rid of him? Can I solve this by essentially destroying him?” By the end, we find out that it’s not possible. The third season is really that next stage. The word I would use is “disintegration.” That’s the next chapter of Elliot’s journey.”
