NBA Rumors: Cavaliers trading Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert for DeMarcus Cousins and Ben Mclemore to match Warriors’ ‘Super Team’

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Sacramento Kings are reportedly having trade talks involving Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, Ben Mclemore and DeMarcus Cousins. The defending NBA champions are serious in upgrading their roster after Kevin Durant decided to join their rival, Golden State Warriors.

DeMarcus Cousins is reportedly ‘unhappy’ with Kings’ picks in the 2016 NBA draft. The Sacramento Kings drafted Georgios Papagiannis and Skal Labissiere giving them a crowded frontcourt. Many were expecting that the Kings will prioritize to boost their backcourt but they did the opposite, making ‘Boogie’ disappointed.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers became pressured when the Golden State Warriors succeeded in building a ‘Super Team’ with the help of Kevin Durant. Quenton Albertie of King James Gospel suggested that the Cavaliers should trade for Kings center DeMarcus Cousins. He remarked that Cousins is unhappy in Sacramento and he will be traded at the 2017 deadline.

CST reported that they heard rumors of a Kevin Love and Iman Shumpert for DeMarcus Cousins and Ben Mclemore trade. Though the Cavaliers managed to win the championship, Love has been the center of the trade rumors. Since the Cavaliers acquired Love, he was always seen struggling on both ends, unable to provide good contribution to the team.

Tristan Thompson might be a good defender and rim protector but DeMarcus Cousins can be a good provider in the offensive end. Cousins has been reportedly involved in different issues regarding his attitude with his coaches and teammates.

However, his attitude might be affected by his team’s poor performance despite him doing well. DeMarcus Cousin averaged 26.9 points and 11.5 rebounds in the last season. If the Cavaliers will succeed to acquire him, they have a better chance of winning back-to-back NBA championship.

On the other hand, Kevin Love would be a good addition with the Kings. Love was used to be the main focus of the team since he was playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, when the Cavaliers acquired him, he only played as a sidekick of LeBron James.

If the rumored trade deal happens, it will surely benefit both teams to fill up their need in building a tougher team as preparation for the next season.
