NBA Rumors: Celtics, Suns to trade for Kevin Love if Cavs lose Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers are just two losses away from another heartbreak as the Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 in the 2016 NBA Finals. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Cavaliers are trading away Kevin Love in the offseason if they lose the Finals and teams such as the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns are ready to give their best offers.

As mentioned in a previous report, the Celtics tried to pursue Love at the trade deadline when the Cavs were having chemistry problems. Some Cavs players thought he will be traded when the team fired head coach David Blatt.

According to Sam Smith of NBA.com, the Cavaliers will have a very busy offseason when they lose the Finals. LeBron James will likely stay but Love may be traded as part of a mini-rebuild that will help surround The King better players.

One of the possible destinations for the 27-year-old UCLA product is the Boston Celtics, who tried to acquire him at the deadline. The Celtics are looking for a second star to pair with Isaiah Thomas, as they try to recruit Kevin Durant this summer.

Boston possesses a lot of picks including the third overall selection and a handful of young players that may be appealing to the Cavaliers. On the other hand, Keith M. Scheessele of SB Nation thinks the Phoenix Suns will be one of the players if ever Love is put on the trading block.

However, the Cavs may want something more in return, possibly the fourth overall pick and Devin Booker for Love. Nonetheless, these are all just speculations and nothing has been confirmed. The Cavs also still have the chance to win the NBA championship, especially if they can win the next two games at home.
