Sacramento Kings superstar DeMarcus Cousins is available in trade talks. The price was high earlier, but Cousin’s trade stock has fallen from the NBA 2016 Draft night.

The Kings are willing to listen to new offers pitched for DeMarcus Cousins after the Boston Celtics showed their eagerness to acquire Blake Griffin. The Kings are moving both Rudy Gay and Ben McLemore this summer, as reported by the Sports Rageous earlier.

Sacramento is eyeing to rebuild under their new coach, Dave Joerger. The franchise was reluctant to trade DeMarcus Cousins earlier, they sacked former coach George Karl to retain Cousins. Karl’s relationship with the big man soured over time. But now the front office may consider trading their superstar center if they get acceptable proposals. The franchise has acquired two centers- Skal Labessiere and Georgios Pappagianis.

Why are the Cavs targeting Cousins?

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving have targeted to rope in DeMarcus Cousins this summer. The Western Conference champions Golden State Warriors have emerged as a powerhouse of the league by adding Kevin Durant in free agency to help Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.

The reigning champions Cleveland’s supremacy has been challenged on paper by the Warriors’ Kevin Durant deal. LeBron James and other senior players of the Cavs’ camp feel the requirement of another superstar on their roster. Cousins in the best available option on the market in this regard. The Cavs is planning to rope in small forward Rudy Gay as a first step to lure the star center, as reported by the Gospel Herald.

Many fans and experts feel the big man has anger management issues, but Cousins clarified that his passion and determination to win can sometimes be misinterpreted.

“I love Sacramento. I consider this home, so that’s not the problem. The losing is,” Cousins said in a recent interview.

The star center feels frustrated over the situation as he is stuck in a losing side for years. So, Cousins are eager to feature for a serious title contender in the league. LeBron James and company wants to use Cousins’ title aspirations to convince him to land in Cleveland.
