NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose sees Knicks as a better team than past Chicago Bulls

Derrick Rose is in the headlines for the wrong reasons these days because of his gang rape case. The new starting point guard for the New York Knicks added more controversy by saying that his new team is better than the past Chicago Bulls teams he had played for in the past years.

“I think he’s going to make the game way easy for the entire team. And that leaves everybody open on the other side, the weak side. You add shooters to that, you add just other threats on the floor, and you’re going to be a dangerous team. And my job is to just come in and just be a point guard,” Rose said to NBPA.com about Carmelo Anthony, his new star teammate in New York.

Rose also compared this Knicks team to his past Bulls squads and said that the N.Y. team is better than the ones in Chicago, where he has played the last seven seasons.

“I think it’s the most talented team I’ve played on, even though I haven’t played with them yet—just looking at the stat sheet, working out with them. So my job is to come in and get everybody going, then have my spot where I can try to dominate the game,” Rose added.

Rose has been involved in NBA rumors that the Knicks will not re-sign him for the long-term or trade him this season if they get a good trade in exchange for their point guard.

This is mainly because of the recent gang rape case he’s involved in. However, it appears that the Knicks and Rose will try out their partnership at least in the upcoming season as he joins forces with other stars Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis.

The Knicks are in “win-now” mode and have also acquired Courtney Lee, Brandon Jennings and Joakim Noah in 2016 free agency.

Earlier in the offseason, Rose also declared the Knicks as one of the NBA’s “Super Teams”. Is this squad better than the past Bulls squads that made multiple NBA playoffs appearances?
