Garino is the younger prospect at 23 years old and plays the same position as Ginobili. He attended college in the United States playing for George Washington from 2012 to 2016. He was undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Meanwhile, Laprovittola is a point guard and already 26 years old. He has played in the pro leagues in South America since 2007. Both Argentines have represented their country in international competitions the last few years.

Laprovittola and Garino will be battling for a roster spot since the Spurs already have established veterans in French Tony Parker and Australian Patty Mills at the PG position and Danny Green, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Anderson and Jonathan Simmons at the guard and forward positions.
