NBA Rumors: Indiana Pacers’ Myles Turner guaranteed as the next NBA superstar?

The Indiana Pacers are seen as a team that is on the rise in the 2016-2016 NBA Season. One reason is that they have big man Myles Turner, who will be part of the Pacers core alongside superstar forward Paul George.

Rumors and speculations this offseason claim that Turner will be the “next LaMarcus Aldridge” and the young forward is not shy in saying that he aims to be an NBA star.

“Individually, I feel like I can put up big numbers for this team and help in any way necessary. I’d like to see myself put up 15 to 20 points per game. That may seem like a long shot, but I feel like I’m very capable,” Turner shared to Basketball Insiders.

“I can see myself being a very dominant player in this league one day – and one day soon. I mean, I don’t know what my ceiling is. With my work ethic and my drive, I feel like there is no ceiling.”

In the same interview Turner promised that he wants to continue to improve in all aspects of the game.

“I see some players who come into the league, get all of this hype and then they start to fizzle out and stop working. I’m never going to be that type of player. My work ethic is a lot of stronger than that and I’m very driven right now. I’m really looking forward to what’s to come over these next couple of years,” Turner added.

In his rookie season, Turner had respectable numbers averaging 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.

Turner will be the Pacers’ starting center and will have veteran big man Al Jefferson as back-up for the 2016-2017 NBA Season.

Turner will have the opportunity to prove that he can continue to improve and retain his starting job. If the NBA rumors of him turning to an NBA star comes true next season, the Pacers will have a very good line-up to be one of the contenders in the Eastern Conference.
