NBA Rumors: Stephen Curry to San Antonio? Spurs expected to go hard for the Warriors superstar in 2017 NBA free agency

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the San Antonio Spurs who are reportedly pursuing Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in 2017 NBA free agency.

The Golden State Warriors made a major upgrade in their roster this offseason after Kevin Durant decided to join their team. Most people see the Warriors as an NBA ‘Super Team’. However, in order for this move to be successful, the Warriors sacrificed some of their players to make room for Durant.

Kevin Durant has been the most coveted free agent this year. However, only six NBA teams were given the chance to have a meeting with him, including the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs ‘Big Three’ is already aging and they need to find their replacement.

Tim Duncan decided to retire last month leaving Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. There are rumors that the 2016-17 NBA season will be the last season of Parker and Ginobili. The Spurs currently have young players who have the capability of continuing their legacy.

Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge have proven that they deserve to be the successor of the Spurs’ veteran. However, they are currently looking for the perfect replacement for Tony Parker.

Bleacher Report Spotlight’s Ric Bucher believes that the San Antonio Spurs will be doing their everything to acquire Stephen Curry in the 2017 NBA free agency.

“I think the Spurs are looking at the fact that Kevin Durant came into Golden State and that Kevin Durant may take up some of the superstar space that was previously occupied by Steph Curry… and when Steph Curry becomes a free agent, I think they are going to go hard at Steph Curry.” Bucher said.

After Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors, Stephen Curry remains questionable on how he will take the change in his role. The 28-year-old guard used to be the ‘go-to-guy’ of the Warriors in the past two seasons. However, it seems like Durant will be stealing that role.

Will Stephen Curry leave the Golden State in next year’s free agency? This will depend on how the Warriors will manage to perform next season. Finding the right chemistry for each player is a must since most of their starters are All-Star caliber.

If the Warriors ‘Super Team’ will not work out next season, the San Antonio Spurs are expected to make their move to acquire Stephen Curry on their team.

Curry didn’t travel to the Hamptons and recruit Durant just to play one season, and maybe get one title with the guy. These guys came together to win now and in the future. A dynasty.
    Plus, he loves Walnut Creek.

Curry isn’t leaving the Warriors… Forget about that nonsense right now. He’s already won a championship here. The salary cap is going to go up again next year. Which will give them enough room to sign him long term. The year after that it will go up again, allowing them then to sign Thompson. This team isn’t getting broken up
