Both the Chicago Bulls and the New Orleans Pelicans are struggling in the preseason games and many see that a trade might do the trick.
Trade rumors suggest the Bulls send Jimmy Butler together with Nikola Mirotic, and Denzel Valentine for Anthony Davis from the Pelicans. With the proposed deal, the Pelicans would gain strength in the shooting and spread the floor unlike with Davis around.
The Pelicans face uncertainty with their season as Davis suffered a sprained right ankle in their preseason game against the Houston Rockets in Beijing, China. Without their ace scorer, the Pelicans are left vulnerable thus with the trade it would answer their need for firepower.
If the deal gets a nod from both teams, the Pelicans would stabilize the void left by Davis. Butler could simply fill in the scoring slack together with Tim Frazier, E’Twaun Moore, Mirotic, and Alexis Ajinca. Meanwhile, Valentine could be a second unit option that could balance the Pelicans offense.
However, with Davis out from 10 to 15 weeks, the Bulls might have to mix up their roster to fill in the void. But once healthy, Davis would be a solid addition to the Bulls roster that would compose Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Taj Gibson and Robin Lopez.
Getting healthy for the coming season is vital for the Pelicans especially they would want to get a shot of getting into the playoffs. Now that injury has threatened their goals, trade talks could augment this. According to coach Alvin Gentry, Davis’ injury is not that serious giving the assurance that once the deal is a go that the Bulls would not be on the losing end.

The deal is possible though many think that the Bulls are giving up so much, but it is worth the risk. Many see that having Butler play along Rondo and Wade would spell trouble for their cause. Thus, doing the trade may answer that concern.
