Two of the NBA’s most versatile players met Monday and Giannnis Atetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks beat Russell Westbrook’s Oklahoma City Thunder, 98-94.
Both players showed why they are the top all-around players in the NBA today. Antetokounmpo had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in leading the Bucks to their third win in the last four games.
Westbrook had 30 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals but he struggled from the field missing 19 of 28 shots and had five turnovers. OKC has lost two of their last three games.
Thunder collapse in 3Q
The visiting Thunder were in control in the first half building a 30-22 lead after the first quarter and a 56-50 lead at the halftime break. But the Bucks had a big third quarter and outscored OKC, 29-16 to grab the 79-72 advantage entering the final quarter.

Westbrook wasn’t giving up and towed OKC to a 88-86 lead with 5:56 to go in the game. Another Westbrook basket tied the game at 94-all with 1:44 left but Westbrook made key turnovers late and missed shots down the stretch.
An assist by Antetokounmpo to John Henson (12 points) gave the Bucks a 96-94 lead and Milwaukee iced the game from the free throw line. Greg Monroe played big off the bench contributing 15 points and 7 rebounds. Jabari Parker add 19 points in 41 minutes.
Steven Adams had 20 points and Victor Oladipo added 18 but the third quarter collapse and late game struggles was too much to survive for the Thunder. OKC is up for a tough two-game road trip facing the Charlotte Hornets and the Houston Rockets in their next two games.
