Blake Griffin may have escaped with his latest antic of throwing shoes at an opponent but trade rumors are another thing. Rumors suggest the Clippers trade Griffin to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The reported deal suggests that as the Clippers send Griffin to the Timberwolves, they would get Kris Dunn, Gorgui Dieng, Zack Lavine, and Nikola Pekovic. The trade is plausible and would be a great upgrade for the Timberwolves. Having Griffin will make them contenders in the Northwest division and could turn their fate around as well.
Griffin has averaged 21.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game and could be the asset the Timberwolves are looking for. With Griffin leading the team, he could very well be paired with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. It would be an exciting season for the Timberwolves if they would try to explore such trade.
For the Clippers, taking in Dunn, Dieng, Lavine and Pekovic would start their rebuilding process. Dunn would be a good investment who could learn from Chris Paul as his wingman while Lavine can help in the scoring department as well. Lavine average 14 points, 3.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game, a worthy reliever for CP3.
Aside from that the Clippers have Dieng and Pekovic who could both help DeAndre Jordan inside the paint. Having three solid rim protectors would give the Clippers its needed muscles aside from scoring as well.

The Clippers has the tendency to start strong and crumble towards the end of the season as injuries could plague them. But in getting young talented players it could spell the difference and relieve the stress out of Paul and Jordan. The Clippers are aging and needs to inject fresh blood to keep its playoffs dreams alive.
Whether both the Clippers and the Timberwolves would explore this trade remains a question. With the start of the preseason, both teams are sizing up their respective roster and might make a move come midseason.
