Draymond Green defends Kevin Durant after Paul Pierce’s comments

Paul Pierce recently criticized Kevin Durant for his free agency decision of joining the powerhouse squad Golden State Warriors. All Star forward Draymond Green came to his new teammate’s defense saying people should give KD “a break” and that people should stop talking about the “same thing”

“I just wonder at what point do they get bored talking about the same thing. You got all these guys talking. Like (Paul) Pierce today, like, dude nobody care what you did or who you did it for,” Green said.

“Just give it a break. Everybody got something to say and want to take everything he say and twist it. Like, he play with the Warriors. OKC has their team, we have our team. He left there.”

It was a long response from Green in defending Durant, here’s the complete transcription of the forward’s reply about the matter:

Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency to the surprise of everyone. Pierce is just one of the many NBA personalities that criticized Durant’s decision. Pierce even described the current generation of NBA players as a group not as competitive as during Pierce’s era.

Meanwhile, Westbrook was also pissed when reporters asked about Durant’s declaration that he is now playing for a “selfless” team. Westbrook has been criticized for his entire NBA career as being too selfish, which hurt OKC’s chances in previous seasons.

Green is expected to defend Durant because the latter is now a Warrior. It’s going to be an interesting Warriors season with many of the NBA teams, including Pierce’s Los Angeles Clippers, aiming to pull off the upset against the title favorites.
