Kobe Bryant receives warm Nike tribute

Kobe Bryant is going to wind up his career on April 13. But before that, folks at Nike basketball are doing everything they can to honor the NBA great.

In a video released by Nike, the sporting company has brought together some of its biggest sporting personalities to talk about Kobe Bryant. Sports personalities like Serena Williams, Odell Beckham Jr, Roger Federer, Neymar, Gerard Pique have paid their tributes to Bryant. But probably Kevin Durant’s view on the LA Lakers player was the most honest one.

Durant said that Bryant used to piss him off a lot.

“He pissed me off a lot,” he said.

The Oklahoma City Thunder player then later shared an anecdote about how Bryant wouldn’t let others eat lunch with him because of their lack of championships, Fox Sports reports. He then used an expletive to describe Bryant in one word.

According to the report, Nike is also planning to drop limited edition shoes on 13 April in honor of Kobe Bryant. The shoes will only be available on NIKEiD and only for limited time. DeMar DeRozan who wore them on-court during the Raptors’ win over the Knicks on Sunday, posted a picture of the shoes.

#MambaDay kicks for tonight. @nikebasketball @NIKEiD@kobebryant #KB20,” he posted on Twitter.

Meanwhile, following Sunday’s Houston Rockets’ win over LA Lakers, James Harden asked Bryant for a help. The incident happened after the game when Harden and Bryant were seen in an embrace. On being asked about it, Harden confessed that he asked Bryant for help.

The much needed help is: Harden asked Bryant for help with making the playoffs.

“Asked what he told Kobe after the game, said Harden: ‘We need y’all to beat Utah. I mean, we need some help,’” ClutchFans posted on Twitter.
