LeBron James tutoring another player who is pegged as the next LeBron James? It could happen this summer as Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo stated that he wants to work out with the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar in the offseason so he can improve his game.
“If I had the chance, the opportunity to work with him, of course I would. You’d have to work with him. He’s one of the best players in the world. One summer working out with LeBron, you can learn a lot. It would help you moving forward. If I had the chance, of course I’ll grab the opportunity to try to work with him,” Antetokounmpo shared to Cleveland.com.
Antetokounmpo has been one of the best revelations in the NBA this season even though his Bucks have struggled this year. The 21-year old Greek forward is listed at 6-foot-11 but a versatile game similar to that of LeBron James, who can play the point guard, center, guard and forward positions during his career.
Antetokounmpo is seen as another player who can imitate LeBron James’ game and his effect on the court. Antetokounmpo is in his third year in the NBA with career high averages of 16.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocked shots.
James averages 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.7 steals in his 13-year NBA career and except for the scoring, those stats are very similar to that of Antetokounmpo’s.
The Bucks are already eliminated from the playoff race this year but they are seen as one of the teams with a bright future with the presence of Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker. A summer with LeBron James by Antetokounmpo might just mean more improvement from the Greek forward who has already impressed the NBA this season.
