When people were asked who’s the best player in NBA right now, names of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook usually popped up. However, for Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner, Paul George is currently the best player in the league.

“I love playing with Paul George. To me, he’s the best player in the NBA. People say Russ, LBJ, KD, or Harden, but to me Paul George is the best player in the NBA. He can do everything,” Turner wrote in The Player’s Tribune.

In his article titled “The Anomaly”, Myles Turner narrated the ups and downs of his basketball career. He admitted that he almost gave up the thing he loves doing the most because of the struggles he faced before reaching where he is right now. Fortunately, after an injury, Turner started to realize that playing basketball is really what he wants to do for the rest of his life.

Turner is currently playing his sophomore year with the Indiana Pacers. After receiving more playing time, his numbers started to surge and there is no doubt that he has a potential to become a superstar in the league. In 55 games this season, Turner averaged 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

So far, the Indiana Pacers continue to struggle and are on a six-game losing streak. However, they remain as a playoff contender in the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference. Before the start of the season, Paul George claimed that the Pacers have the ability to dethrone the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

However, the acquisition of Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young didn’t help them much as they fail to become consistent. Still, everything is possible for the Pacers. As Myles Turner said in his article, George can be compared to LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Kevin Durant, who all have the capability to carry the team to title contention.

Paul George gives advice to sophomore center Myles Turner

In an interview with HoopsHype, Myles Turner was asked about the advice Paul George gave him. The 20-year-old center revealed that George told him to “never settle” and “balance everything”.

“He’s really helpful, man. The best advice he has given me is ‘never settle.’ He’s made the All-NBA 3rd Team and been successful, but in his mind he should’ve been 1st Team and I agree with him. That’s kind of the way he approaches it. That’s obviously an honor, but he says to never settle and never be satisfied with things you’ve done – you can always strive for more. Off the court, he has told me to just balance everything,” Turner said.

As of now, Paul George is undeniably one of the best players in the league. However, in order make his name more respectable, George should show his ability to help the Pacer win an NBA championship title.
