Hall of Famer and former Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal will be giving Houston Rockets star guard James Harden the 2016 MVP award for his famous show “Shaqtin’ a fool”.
In the middle of the intense NBA Finals, Shaquille O’Neal and his crew still found time to collect all the funniest scenes they observed in the 2015-16 season. After an intense study and series of reviews, they have come up with the NBA player with most blunders. Unfortunately for James Harden, he was the chosen one.
The Houston Rockets are currently involved in different issues, especially with their main men James Harden and Dwight Howard. Howard is expected to leave his current team after they decided to hire Mike D’Antoni. Howard and D’Antoni worked together in the Los Angeles Lakers and were reportedly having a dispute regarding court issues. On the other hand, James Harden has been criticised with his defense and “Shaqtin’ a fool” gave him an award for this.
On his show on NBA TV, called “Shaqtin’ a Fool”, Shaquille O’Neal gives an MVP award every year for the player with most blunders throughout the season. In the past years, Javale McGee (2012, 2013), Kendrick Perkins (2014), and Otto Porter Jr. (2015) were chosen as the MVP each year. NBA players gave different reactions regarding James Harden being chosen as the “Shaqtin’ a Fool”’s MVP.
Despite the funny context of the show, it may also reveal the weaknesses of several NBA players who has been included in it. James Harden is well known for his outstanding performance in the offensive end but the videos of him released by “Shaqtin’ a Fool” showed his lack of effort on the defensive end.
According to NESN, Shaquille O’Neal was the one who named Houston Rockets star guard James Harden as “Shaqtin’ a Fool” MVP for his defensive lapses and lazy tendencies.
