NBA News: Stephen Curry says Kevin Durant in Warriors shirt weirdest thing ever, excited for team development

Stephen Curry said in an interview during the celebrity golf tournament that he has always wanted to be part of the US Olympic basketball team, but is unable to due to his injury. He said he welcomes this period to rest and prepare his body for the next season.

It’s also a great time to mentally condition himself for new challenges while enjoying playing golf at the same time, where he is at 6/1 odds in the American Century Championship.

Kevin Durant has drawn sharp criticisms after leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Warriors. NBA analysts feel that Kevin Durant joined the Warriors to take an easy route to the championships. Even former NBA legends like Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller gave negative reactions, and somehow compared it to LeBron James’ relocation from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat in 2010.

Stephen Curry shared he is thrilled over the new addition to the team. He jokingly said that Kevin Durant was smart for leaving for China right after signing a new contract, and drew laughter from the crowd.

Curry said, “I didn’t get to talk to him much right after. But since he’s been back, I’ve talked to him right when they started Team USA practice. So it hasn’t been much detail about what we’re going to be like as a team. It’s more like the collective mindset of having each other’s back and doing what we need to do to get ready for the season.”

Many feel that Kevin Durant won’t be having any conflict with Stephen Curry as he moves in due to the point guard’s unselfish nature. He has no problem sharing the ball, and even as he speaks of Durant he directly refers to the team’s collective mindset, and working together.

“Yesterday was the first time I saw Kevin Durant in a Warrior T-shirt. I like did a double-take; it was the weirdest thing ever, because it’s still kind of fresh. But we’re going to love having him.” Stephen Curry said.

He feels that it is going to be great witnessing how the team is going to adjust with Durant in the team. The Warriors are a very rangy team with sharp shooters getting a green signal for pushing the offense.

“It’s going to be an interesting transition because it is such a different team than we had last year, and you have a guy like that with such a high caliber player, you gotta figure it out. But the collective IQ we have on that squad, I like our chances. And it’s going to be fun.” Curry said.
