The Philadelphia 76ers continue to create a logjam in their roster with the signing of Dario Saric. Rumors are swirling that it is a clear indication that the 76ers are really trying to trade Jahlil Okafor to other teams.
The 76ers are now loaded in the big men department as they have Saric, Okafor, Nerlens Noel, and Joel Embiid. 76ers president for basketball operations, Bryan Colangelo, has already hinted that one way or the other they will have to unload some of their big men to create that diversified rotation for their roster next season. But Colangelo noted that they will not get into a trade just for the sake of trading their players. He stresses that they will listen to trade offers carefully.
“There’s no question you can look at our roster and say we have some unbalance. We’re top heavy. We have some good talent there. We have to figure out what we’re going to do with everybody. When you look at the calls coming in, quite frankly, everyone’s trying to poach a big man from us,” Colangelo said.

The 76ers were happy to note that they have signed 22-year old Dario Saric. Though no details of how much the 76ers offered to sign Saric, one thing is for sure they have some other assets that could be included in the trading block that could assert them in the future.
“We are thrilled to finally announce the highly anticipated signing of Dario Saric to an NBA player contract with the Philadelphia 76ers,” Colangelo said in a statement. “Our basketball team stands to benefit from both the on-court development and physical maturation of Dario as a professional player in Croatia and Turkey over the last few years.”
According to a report on ESPN, the 6-foot-10, 243-pound power forward, played two seasons with the Turkish team Anadolu Efes. He was named MVP of the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament after averaging 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists for his native Croatia. Saric was the 12th overall pick of the 2014 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic but was quickly traded to the 76ers for Elfrid Payton.

Now that has been done, the 76ers are now looking for a potential trade that would correct the imbalance in their roster. They are bent on building their team around Saric and Simons, thus the 76ers are going to look for a suitable point guard that would lead and guide their young big men in the NBA journey.

It is not clear yet which team would the 76ers trade with and who are they trading, but links of Okafor being on the trading block is strong. All Okafor can do is wait and see if any trade talks would prosper. He could also hope that none of it would be appealing so that he could stay with the team for the time being.
