NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics acquiring Jusuf Nurkic from the Denver Nuggets?

The Boston Celtics have been linked with NBA rumors this offseason and it will continue towards the start of the regular season. The latest rumors suggest that the Celtics are close to acquiring center Jusuf Nurkic from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for a future first-round draft pick.

A website called claims that Boston will send one of their coveted first rounds picks to Denver to acquire the 22-year-old Bosnian big man. However, it should be noted that these are just speculations and nothing has been confirmed.

The Celtics have a lot of young assets and draft picks to get necessary pieces to turn the team from playoff contenders to legitimate title contenders. Boston already has Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford as their two stars but the team has been looking to add a third.

Jusuf Nurkic is nowhere near on being a star but he has the potential to become one of the best centers of his generation. He looks like a perfect complement to Horford in the Boston frontcourt but it would be too much to give up a possible first overall pick for Jusuf Nurkic.

Danny Ainge does not pull the trigger on a trade he does not like but he is certainly waiting for the right deal. The Celtics are loaded with two potential first overall picks from the Brooklyn Nets, as well as 2016 third overall pick, Jaylen Brown.

A combination of those picks, Brown and possibly two more players can help Ainge acquire a third superstar. Some of the names that have been linked with the Celtics include DeMarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Paul George and Jimmy Butler.

It should be noted that these are just NBA rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, expect the Celtics to make a big trade before the February deadline or possibly next summer.
