NBA Rumors: Brandon Knight to back up Kyrie Irving, J.R. Smith absence, Kevin Love trade to Suns

Kevin Love trade, NBA rumors

In hindsight, it’s hard to tell if the Cavs would still have let go of Matthew Dellavedova for the Milwaukee Bucks, especially if they had known beforehand that a difficulty would arise in signing back J.R. Smith. NBA rumors say the Cavs may give into a Kevin Love trade for a quick fix to such a concern.

The Cavs, led by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, are in the mix of an NBA rumor that sends Kevin Love to Phoenix in exchange for Brandon Knight and Tyson Chandler.

This supposed arrangement will give Brandon Knight a vital role of playing backup to Kyrie Irving. Aside from that, he would be of great use to the defending champions considering that J.R. Smith may not reach an agreement with the team.

J.R. Smith and the Cavs are still in a deadlock in financial negotiations, and NBA rumors, too, abound that J.R. Smith may eventually decide to play elsewhere.

The Cavs is missing a lot from Matthew Dellavedova’s defense and effective tandem with James for “Best Net Rating” for a 2-man combo, as reported by ESPN.

To let this materialize, the Cavs would have to go for a Kevin Love trade to the Suns. That should bring Tyson Chandler along with Brandon Knight, which makes sense since Cleveland lost Timofey Mozgov to the Lakers.

Tyson Chandler could be the guy they’re looking for as a rim protector, and help grab rebounds, while Brandon Knight gives dimension to the point guard/ shooting guard position, that could benefit Kyrie Irving greatly.

Kevin Love is reportedly looking forward to making a valuable impression with the Cavs this season. If NBA rumors are true, Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye could fill in his void. Could Phoenix be the right place for a Kevin Love trade, to revitalize his career?

Kevin Love has been known to be the odd man out in the Cavs’ combo of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. He’s had to make crucial sacrifices too, so he could fit into their mold, and his injuries surely didn’t help along the way. His addition to the Suns would ease their logjam at the point guard spot.

This NBA rumor makes sense for both teams, but this remains a speculation at this point.
