NBA Rumors: Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose forming ‘Big Three’ with ‘Porzingod’, ready to win the 2017 NBA championship

New York Knicks superstars Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose will be facing the 2016-17 NBA season with the hope of winning their first NBA championship title. Can the Knicks match the crowd favorites Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers?

Knicks president Phil Jackson has fulfilled his promise in surrounding Carmelo Anthony with quality teammates. They started rebuilding the team in June when they acquired the three-time MVP, Derrick Rose, on their team.

Also, Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee, and Brandon Jenning decided to join the Knicks and help them contend for the championship title next season. In the paper, there is no doubt that the Knicks can be considered as one of the ‘Super Teams’.

However, no one can deny the fact that Noah and Rose’s prime already passed after suffering multiple injuries. Still, there is still a hope in the Knicks camp that the Derrick Rose-Carmelo Anthony tandem can finally give them the 2017 NBA championship title.

Rose and Anthony were two of the few NBA superstars who are still not winning a championship title. Now that they are on the same team, Rose and Anthony are expected to show how determined they are to win.

“Rose isn’t the superstar that he was when he won NBA MVP in 2010-11. He’s still one of the most dynamic slashers in the NBA, however, and he joins a team that’s in dire need of players who can create penetration. From that perspective, Rose is the perfect player to help alleviate pressure from Anthony on the offensive end of the floor.” Maxwell Ogden of Daily Knicks said.

Another player that is expected to give a large contribution for the Knicks next season is the incoming sophomore, Kristaps Porzingis. The 21-year-old center/power forward was a revelation for the Knicks last season. He averaged 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game.

Recently, Kristaps Porzingis was reportedly working out with Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook. This served as a preparation for the upcoming season when he teams up with Derrick Rose.

“Offensively, training alongside Westbrook should give Porzingis an idea as to what to expect from Derrick Rose. Rose isn’t as explosive as he used to be, but his speed and agility still rank amongst the best in the NBA.” Ogden said.

For some people, there is still a doubt that the New York Knicks can stand up against the mighty teams like the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, if the trio of Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, and Kristaps Porzingis works well next season, the Knicks could prove the doubters wrong.
