Caron Butler suited up for the Sacramento Kings last season. He was used sparingly by the team since he only appeared 17 games there. Butler was released by the team then and is currently a free agent. These NBA rumors suggest that the player might sign with the New York Knicks to fill the last roster spot on the team.
In an interview podcast with Anthony Donahue of 33rd and 7th, Butler said that “he loves the moves that the Knicks has made”. He added in the interview that “he really wants to join the team.” Donahue also said in the podcast that the player could be a great addition to the team.
Caron’s interest in joining the Knicks is actually a good thing for the franchise. This only indicates that Butler is willing to be a part of the team in any capacity.
Though he had a forgettable last season, he could still provide some veteran leadership. He could really help a contending team in the postseason. In this case, the Knicks might be headed that way due to their offseason additions.

Their recent acquisitions of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings this summer might bolster their playoff chances next season.
It might be a good idea for the Knicks to use their final roster spot on a player like Butler. This kind of a player could provide them some valuable experience in the post-season.
