With NBA rumors overwhelming Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat because of medical problems, there is one team that can try to bring back the big man to improve their chances next season. Should the Toronto Raptors consider a reunion with their former franchise player?
The Raptors are in “win-now” mode and will do everything to upgrade their roster. As it stands, Toronto’s line-up is still not good enough to beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the top team in the Eastern Conference.
Bringing back Bosh will address their issues at power forward and the big man can start for the team if he’s healthy.

However, any trade with Miami will cost them a number of players in their roster since they can’t give up the likes of DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas, who have high salaries but are part of the Raptors core.
Via RealGM Trade Checker, a Chris Bosh for Terrence Ross, Patrick Patterson and Jared Sulllinger works under NBA rules. However, this trade can only be done after December 15 because Sullinger was just signed this offseason.
The Raptors can also include other players and remove Sullinger from the deal if they want a trade with Miami before the season starts.
For Miami, ending the drama with Bosh, who has not yet been cleared to play in the NBA because of blood clots, is crucial in moving on to rebuilding their team. Dwyane Wade, the former franchise player of the team, left for the Chicago Bulls in 2016 free agency.
Bosh leaving will mean they are over with the “Big 3” era of LeBron James, Wade and Bosh in previous years. With this deal with Toronto, they will also save some money as the big man is owed $23 million per year with three years left in the deal.
If they trade Bosh, they can move on to making Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic as the key franchise players for the future.
For Toronto, Bosh will give them another scoring big man and pair him with Valanciunas. This is also good for the Raptors fans, who still remember the big man as their franchise player years ago.
If Bosh is not healthy and not allowed to comeback in the league, the Raptors can also save some money. In these NBA rumors, they might trade three players for nothing but this is a risk they should take if they want to beat LeBron and the Cavs.
