The Toronto Raptors came two wins short of making the NBA Finals losing to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. NBA rumors now move to their star forward DeMar DeRozan, who will be a free agent in the 2016 offseason.

According to reports, there is a big chance that DeRozan will stay with the Toronto Raptors. But question is if the team is willing to give him a maximum contract which is believed to be the demand of the star forward.

DeRozan will be a free agent for the first time in his career and will be free to sign with any other NBA team as he is an unrestricted free agent as he is expected to opt out of his contract in Toronto for 2016-2017.

But according to DeRozan, he will not find a better situation than with the Raptors, who will be considered one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference with their core of Kyle Lowry, Jonas Valanciunas and DeMarre Carroll all under contract for Toronto in the next few seasons.

“I don’t think so,” DeRozan said when asked about his upcoming free agency and NBA rumors on where he wants to sign this summer. “My mindset has always been Toronto… I don’t want to switch it up now.”

While DeMar DeRozan is saying he wants to stay in Toronto, the Raptors are expected to have some rivals trying to steal their star forward this summer. This includes one team like the Los Angeles Lakers, who have the chance to sign two superstars on a max contract this 2016 offseason.

NBA rumors will continue to surround DeMar DeRozan until he decides if he wants to stay in Toronto or move to another NBA squad.
