Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat have an ongoing rift with regards to the veteran’s contract extension. According to the latest NBA rumors, this could lead the shooting guard to sign with either the New York Knicks or Chicago Bulls.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports posted on Twitter that Wade have met with the Knicks, plus the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. The Bulls and Wade meeting could happen on Thursday.
What is interesting is that there are NBA rumors that Wade has yet to contact the Heat again even after earlier reports that Miami already offered him a two-year deal worth $40 million.
However, new reports are in that the Heat wants to talk with Wade again.
Aside from the Heat, only the Nuggets have been reported to made an exact offer, which is valued at $50 million over two years. It’s not clear how the Knicks, Bucks and Bulls will acquire Wade, but a sign-and-trade could be worked out between the Heat and these teams.
The 34-year-old Wade had a nice season with the Heat last year with averages of 19.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. In the playoffs, he averaged 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists as the Heat lost to the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
There are also NBA rumors that Wade could join friend LeBron James in Cleveland. However, the Cavaliers don’t have the money to offer him a big contract.
