NBA Rumors: Dwyane Wade lands with San Antonio Spurs or Dallas Mavericks after lowball offer from Miami Heat?

Dwyane Wade is supposed to be a “Heat Lifer” but is now embroiled in a contract dispute with the Miami Heat, according to latest NBA rumors. If the Heat’s franchise player leaves Miami, he could be landing with Western Conference teams, San Antonio Spurs or Dallas Mavericks.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Wade’s representatives have been contacting rival teams and asking if anyone wants to offer him a contract. Earlier reports this week state that Wade and the Heat disagree on the amount of deal for him so stay in Miami.

Windhorst named at least two teams that has been contacted by Wade’s camp, the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks.

Earlier NBA rumors this offseason had Pat Riley, Heat’s team president, declaring that the priority this summer is signing Kevin Durant and Hassan Whiteside in free agency.

Whiteside is expected to demand about $22 million for his first lucrative contract in the NBA and has been linked to multiple teams like the Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.

It looks like the Heat wants Wade to take a salary cut as the Heat only have about $40 million to spend in 2016 free agency. This does not account other Heat free agents like Luol Deng, who also wants a big contract.

Dwyane Wade to San Antonio Spurs

Wade with San Antonio means that the veteran guard will still contend for a title even if he changes teams at this stage of his career. The Spurs might get Tim Duncan back if he doesn’t retire and have star forwards LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard in the line-up.

This is a good spot for Wade, who will want to add another NBA championship and still become a major contributor for a title contender.

Dwyane Wade to Dallas Mavericks

Wade with Dallas also means that he gets to play a major role for a playoff contender. The Mavericks are not as strong as the Spurs but with money this 2016 offseason they can add more players aside from Wade and become one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

The Mavericks still have Dirk Nowitzki and Wesley Matthews in the line-up and looking to add a top free agent this summer. Dallas has been linked to Hassan Whiteside, Wade’s center in Miami, and Dwight Howard, among others.

Dwyane Wade has also been linked to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in other NBA rumors. Wade and James are close friends and already teamed up in Miami in 2010. A reunion is possible but Wade has options like the Spurs and Mavericks if the Heat can’t give him the contract that he wants.
