Josh Smith entry in the NBA gave fans a strong impression of his athleticism. But we later found out that his skills were not merely limited to it, or to slam dunk highlights when he won the competition in 2005, but that Smith can really play and offer serious numbers.
Josh Smith could come into any team and be a good scoring option. Although his numbers may have declined over the years, partly due to his age, or, perhaps due to his limited playing time, he remains an overall threat with his range and defensive ability.
And speaking of defensive skills, some may have forgotten how Josh Smith, at 24, became the youngest player in the NBA to record 1,000 careers blocked shots.
NBA rumors have placed Josh Smith trade a strong possibility with the Warriors. The team led by Kevin Durant still has one spot to fill, and it’d be wise to list Smith on the Warriors roster.
Coach Steve Kerr made it clear that since they’ve successfully acquired Kevin Durant their main concern now is their defense, as reported by Fox Sports. Could the 30-year-old veteran be their answer?
Kevin Durant Warriors acquisition could be partly blamed for the team’s lack of size and a weak backup team. Josh Smith could help boost their second unit by adding more depth to it, and he could be a great back up to Draymond Green, according to a report by GameNGuide.
If one looks at it, Josh Smith could help to ease Kevin Durant Warriors pressure both offensively and defensively.
He could help Kevin Durant, who likes to create his shots, by spreading the defense as a sharp shooter. His catch and shoot game fits well with the Warriors’ strategy, and at 6’9 he could help Draymond Green out being an undersized center.
A Josh Smith trade to the Warriors could also mean an added stability to the young players as a mentor alongside Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.
