Kevin Durant is on a verge of a continuous spread of rumors in his upcoming free agency in the off-season. According to a recent report, Durant is most likely to go west to Los Angeles Lakers if he does not re-sign a contract with his current team.
Calvin Watkins of Espn reported that one Rockets official said that if he does not stay with his current team, Oklahoma City Thunder, or join force with Harden in Houston, he may be heading for Los Angeles Lakers.
With Kobe Bryant’s retirement, Lakers will surely have enough salary cap in acquiring a star player like Kevin Durant. Lakers, as we all know is labelled as one of the worst team in the league for this season having 16-60 win-loss record with only nine games left.
Durant will be a great additional with Roy Hibbert, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell as Lakers starting line-up since the team needs badly a key player who can score when needed.
Durant would probably choose a title contender team or a team with experienced players. To have more chances in acquiring Durant,Lakers might want to sign other NBA star on free-agency namely Hassan Whiteside, Al Honford, Chandler Parsons, Pau Gasol and Nicolas Batum since they are in a rebuilding process with young cores.
Kevin Durant’s current team, Oklahoma City Thunder, is one of the title contenders this season, where he plays alongside Russell Westbrook with their new head coach Billy Donovan.
Despite the trade rumors,Durant doesn’t give any hints whether he will be signing again with his current team or choose to play for another franchise wherein he said into Ken Berger of CBSSports.com that any discussions about him are all hearsay.
Rumors and speculations about what team Durant will choose are expected to continue until he officially signs a contract.
