NBA Rumors: LeBron James, Cavaliers badly want Dwyane Wade to match the Warriors’ ‘Super Death Lineup’

The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly targeting Miami Heat star guard Dwyane Wade after the Golden State Warriors succeeded to acquire Kevin Durant in free agency.

Kevin Durant made an official announcement in The Player’s Tribune and decided to sign a two-year deal worth $54 million with a player option in the second year with the Warriors. After the decision was made, the Golden State warriors became the most favorite team to win the NBA Finals 2017.

With this, many are questioning about the next move of the reigning NBA champions, Cleveland Cavaliers, after the biggest free agency signing by their top rival. The Cavaliers almost got everything they needed to form the perfect lineup – Tristan Thompson (Center), Kevin Love (PF), LeBron James (SF) and Kyrie Irving (PG).

However, they still need to make an adjustment for the shooting guard position. Though J.R. Smith seemed to be a good fit with the position, the ‘Super Death lineup’ of the Golden State Warriors will surely defeat them. Timofey Mozgov and Matthew Dellavedova already decided to move to another team in free agency.

The Cavaliers are deeply hurt when they left since they are good backup players. However, the positive thing is it helps them create a room to sign a superstar free agent and one of the best shooting guard in the league, Dwyane Wade. The Miami Heat recently offered a $10 million per season to Dwyane Wade, making the three-time NBA champion angry.

However after Durant made his decision, the Miami Heat raised their offer to a two-year deal worth $40 million. According to Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN, the two sides are at “a bit of an impasse,” with the Heat remaining optimistic that the two sides will get a deal done.

The Milwaukee Bucks and the Denver Nuggets are reportedly actively pursuing Dwyane Wade. However, if LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers made their move, there is a higher possibility that Wade will join the reigning NBA champions.

There have been multiple reports saying that James and Wade wanted to play together again in one team. However, the Cavaliers need to find a way to give Dwyane Wade a decent offer. If they will be serious to upgrade their lineup, it may cost them to lose their own free agent, J.R. Smith.
