NBA Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves trading Ricky Rubio for Eric Bledsoe?; Suns in need of a pass-first PG

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves who are reportedly having trade talks involving Eric Bledsoe and Ricky Rubio.

Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio has been involved in different trade rumors. In the recent NBA draft, the Timberwolves selected Kris Dunn as their 5th overall pick. This move heated up the trade rumors surrounding Rubio.

According to ESPN, Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said that the team would not be trading Ricky Rubio. The team is currently working to improve Rubio’s shooting and still testing if Kris Dunn can be fitted into the starting role.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the NBA teams who have succeeded in building a promising, young roster. However, they admitted the need of the presence of a veteran player on their team.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the Phoenix Suns want to trade either Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight for a pass-first point guard.

“The Phoenix Suns have a pair of quality point guards who cost a lot of money and can’t stay healthy,” Rob Goldberg of Bleacher Report wrote. “When the two players are in the lineup together, they overlap each other at the point guard position while taking away minutes from promising shooting guard Devin Booker.”

Devin Booker considers that future of Sun’s franchise. Any decision that the team will make should be centering the 19-year-old shooting guard. If the Phoenix Suns are looking for a pass-first point guard, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be a good trade partner.

The Suns can straight swap Eric Bledsoe for Ricky Rubio. This trade works in an ESPN trade machine in favor of the Phoenix Suns. If the trade deal becomes a reality, it will surely benefit both teams in filling the needs in their roster.

The trade may or may not happen before the start of the season. However, it is expected for both teams to make such moves in order to build a tougher roster next season.
