One of the New York Knicks’ top priorities this offseason is to find a new starting point guard. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Knicks may be interested in signing 2016 Euroleague MVP and CSKA Moscow star, Nando De Colo.
The Knicks still have Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant on their roster but the former is already past his prime while the latter just finished his rookie season. New York has already been linked with top free agent point guards like Mike Conley, Jeremy Lin and Rajon Rondo.
However, Knicks president Phil Jackson has insisted in the past that they are not looking to sign a big name PG this summer. All of the decisions could come down on what offense new head coach Jeff Hornacek will execute.

According to Joe Flynn of SB Nation, the Knicks should at least think about pursuing Nando De Colo, who helped CSKA Moscow win the 2016 Euroleague trophy. His first stint in the NBA was unsuccessful but he has improved in the past couple seasons, averaging 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game this year.
“De Colo brings the size that Phil Jackson loves to see from his guards and can play anywhere from point guard to small forward,” Flynn wrote.
However, the Toronto Raptors still owns his rights making him a restricted free agent. Other teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets have also expressed interest in bringing De Colo back to the NBA.

As mentioned in a previous report, CSKA Moscow is planning to sign their star guard to a new contract with an annual salary of $3 million. De Colo can also increase his value this summer in the 2016 Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
