Norris Cole doesn’t have a team yet in the NBA. But he doesn’t want his status to remain like that as his agent recently called the Minnesota Timberwolves. The NBA rumors about his potential destination next season might be in Minnesota based on this report.
According to Darren Wolfson of ESPN, Cole’s new agent recently called the Timberwolves. The call was entertained by the franchise, but there is no deal that ensued.
The Wolves might be interested in the player since they still answered the call from Cole’s agent. This team currently has three NBA players, who all plays as a point guard. These players are Ricky Rubio, Tyus Jones and Kris Dunn.
Cole also plays as a point guard, and might find it hard to crack the Timberwolves’ roster.
Those guards are unlikely to be traded by the team since they are leaning on developing them next season. Therefore, the NBA rumors about Cole signing with Minnesota might not happen for now.
Norris Cole formerly played for the New Orleans Pelicans last season. He became a free agent this year due to his one-year contract from 2015 that was not extended by the Pelicans. This is a bad move to New Orleans since Cole had a decent 2015-2016 season with them.
The player had averages of 10.6 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 3.7 assists per game last season. He did this in just 26.6 minutes of playing time with the Pelicans.
Whether Cole ends up in Minnesota or not, he will still be signed by an NBA team before the next season.
