The Orlando Magic are reportedly not pursuing a trade yet for their starting center Nikola Vucevic. However, with offseason acquisitions Bismack Biyombo and Serge Ibaka, the Florida-based franchise might consider trying one of their big men in the future and Vucevic appears to have the most value among the three and he’ll be at the center of the NBA trade rumors during the 2016-2017 NBA Season.
Magic general manager Rob Hennigan declared earlier this offseason that they have not decided yet on who starts at the center and power forward spots for the team and this could be a shot to Vucevic, who was the starting C for the team in previous seasons.
Aside from Vucevic, Biyombo and Ibaka, the Magic also have forward Aaron Gordon, who needs playing time for both forwards spot if they want to continue to develop him. At some point in the new season, the availability of all four will be mentioned in NBA trade rumors especially if the Magic struggle early.
The Orlando Magic are expected to use Ibaka more next season as the team aims for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. To get Ibaka, Orlando had to give up promising shooting guard Victor Oladipo to the Oklahoma City Thunder plus other young prospects.
“This is the longest period of time for our franchise not to be in the playoffs,” Alex Martins, the CEO of the Magic, said via ESPN marking their move to “win now” and target the postseason starting in the new NBA season later this year. “Our fans deserve a winning product.”
One team that needs a young big man are the Denver Nuggets, who have the pieces to give up in a possible Nikola Vucevic trade. The Nuggets have a set of wingmen and forwards that makes them the perfect trade partners for Orlando.
A straight up trade between Danilo Gallinari and Nikola Vucevic works and Denver can also offer other wingmen in Will Barton, Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris. NBA trade rumors for the Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic for now but it looks like they are the perfect fit in dealing their players and getting a nice balanced roster next season.
