NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns willing to trade Brandon Knight for Ricky Rubio? T’Wolves seeking a veteran

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Phoenix Suns who are reportedly trading Brandon Knight for Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ricky Rubio has been involved in various trade rumors that started in the recent NBA draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Kris Dunn, who has the same position as Rubio. The Timberwolves now have Ricky Rubio, Zach Lavine, Tyus Jones and Kris Dunn for the point guard position.

Despite having lots of point guards, there are rumors that the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for a veteran. The team has young and talented players. However, they still need the presence of veteran players to be able to reach a higher level next season.

If the Timberwolves want to acquire a quality veteran, making Ricky Rubio as a trade bait will make sense. The 25-year-old point guard has a good passing ability but lacks accuracy in the perimeter. According to ESPN, Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said that they are currently working to improve Rubio’s shooting skills.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are currently looking for a pass-first point guard to maximize the effectiveness of their franchise player, Devin Booker. The 19-year-old shooting guard has shown the potential of being a future superstar so building around him will make sense for the Suns.

“The Phoenix Suns have a pair of quality point guards who cost a lot of money and can’t stay healthy,” Rob Goldberg of Bleacher Report wrote. “When the two players are in the lineup together, they overlap each other at the point guard position while taking away minutes from promising shooting guard Devin Booker.”

Though there are no specific details on who the Phoenix Suns are willing to offer, they could choose between Eric Bledsoe or Brandon Knight. Both players have shown their effectiveness in the offensive end but failed to show the true quality of a point guard.

If they will pursue the trade, the Minnesota Timberwolves would be a great partner. The Phoenix Suns could straight swap Bandon Knight for Ricky Rubio. This trade scenario works in ‘ESPN Trade Machine’.

If the trade deal happens, this will surely benefit both teams in filling up the needs on their roster.

“Cost a lot of money”… Completely false. Even with the most recent salary cap spike, both Bledsoe and Knight’s deals are affordable. And once the cap jumps up again, their deals will be 2 of the most affordable and team friendly contracts in the league.

Can’t disagree with facts. These articles are complete garbage. Idk alot about Rubio because the Minnesota has sucked for so long but seems like a lopsided deal. Pretty sure Rubio has had some major injuries. I’d rather hold out til the deadline if we have to. No chance this deal gets done. Too many other good possibilities out there. Hayward, Cousins, Okafor, Love, Westbrook and many more seem available. I’d rather have draft picks. Both Bledsoe and Knight are all star caliber players when healthy. Bledsoe is a bit more available in my opinion. Go YouTube Knights last game against the Warriors. I want to see more of that. Fender Bender, Bledsoe and Chandler along with Miami’s two first rounders should be able to land just about anything. Why settle for a lateral move at best? Suns are in a great position. And all for a player that costs about the same amount of money. Very stupid thought and waste of time reading this nonsense. Rubio is not the next Steve Nash…..
