Ben Simmons was selected as the No.1 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the recent 2016 NBA Draft. However, his fellow rookies do not believe that he has the most potential for superstardom in the NBA and has selected Brandon Ingram of the Los Angeles Lakers as the rookie who will have the best career in the league.
The result of the rookie survey will add the rumors and speculations that Simmons is not that good and not worthy of the being the top pick in the recent rookie draft.
More interesting in the result is that Simons is not even in the top three of the list, with Kris Dunn of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Buddy Hield of the New Orleans Pelicans ranked ahead of the Sixers rookie.
Here is the result for the poll wherein rookies were asked which among their peers would have the “best NBA career” and Simmons is just tied in fourth place.
1. Brandon Ingram (Los Angeles Lakers) – 26.7%
2. Kris Dunn (Minnesota Timberwolves) – 16.7%
3. Buddy Hield (New Orleans Pelicans) – 13.3%
4. Dragan Bender (Phoenix Suns), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets) and Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers) – 6.7%
These are just opinions of the NBA’s first year players but the criticism on Simmons is on his offense, particularly that he does not have a good jumpshot. He was successful in high school in college but the competition is lower there and he can’t use his height and length as much in the pro league.

Simmons is one of the best passers in the rookie class but scouts and analysts have questioned his shot-making ability. He has room to improve but as a top overall pick the pressure is on the Australian player to contribute for the Sixers immediately.
Most of the NBA rookies and the NBA rumors and speculations about Simmons’ ability might be wrong. But the opinion on Simmons is a challenge for the Sixers rookie to prove that he is the franchise player Philadelphia needs in the future.
