Celtics looking at assets to make a trade for 76ers’ Jahlil Okafor?
The Boston Celtics has ever been linked with the Philadelphia 76ers ever since the 76ers offers to trade some of its big men. Rumors are swirling that the Celtics is looking deep at its assets which they could use as trade package for 76ers’ Jahlil Okafor.

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Oklahoma City Thunder who are reportedly trading guards Andre Roberson and Cameron Payne for Jahlil Okafor of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Oklahoma City Thunder became the center of issues this offseason after Kevin Durant left in free agency. The 27-year-old small forward decided to join the Golden State Warriors with the hope of winning his first NBA championship title. After this, rumors spread that Russell Westbrook has no interest to renegotiate and extend his contract.

Luckily, a month after Durant left, Westbrook agreed to a three-year, $85 million-plus contract extension. Before all of this drama happened, one of their key players were traded in the NBA draft night- Serge Ibaka.

In the recent NBA draft, the Thunder traded Ibaka for Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and Domantas Sabonis. Now that Ibaka is gone, there are rumors that the Thunder are eyeing Jahlil Okafor as his replacement.

Jahlil Okafor has been involved in various trade rumors this offseason. The arrival of Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid created a logjam in their frontcourt. Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, and Joel Embiid will be battling for playing time if the Sixers won’t trade one of them.

Isaac Harris of Fansided suggested the Oklahoma City Thunder to engage in a trade deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The Thunder will be trading guards Andre Roberson, Cameron Payne and future draft picks for Jahlil Okafor. This trade scenario works in the ESPN trade machine.

In his rookie year, Jahlil Okafor averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Standing 6-foot-11, Okafor can play both power forward and center, making him a good frontcourt partner with Steve Adams.

Meanwhile, Cameron Payne and Andre Roberson will finally answer the Sixers’ backcourt problems. The Sixers can now focus between Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid as their legitimate centers. Roberson is a two-way player who can play 2 and 3.

His effectiveness in the defensive end proved that he can guard even the best players in the league. If this trade deal proceeds, it will definitely help both teams in filling up the needs to improve on their roster.
