NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Clippers to trade C.J. Wilcox for Devin Marble and 2020 second-round pick

Rumors and speculations are now swirling around the Los Angeles Clippers who are reportedly trading shooting guard C.J. Wilcox for Orlando Magic’s Devin Marble and 2020 second-round pick.

The Orlando Magic are currently in need of a shooting guard since they lost Victor Oladipo when they acquired Serge Ibaka from the Oklahoma City Thunder. C.J. Wilcox could be the best fit for the role because of his long-range shooting prowess. In 44 games for the Los Angeles Clippers over the last two seasons, Wilcox made 38.1 percent in the three-point range.

He only served as a backup shooting guard and was given a very limited time under coach Doc Rivers. C.J. Wilcox is only 25 and has much time to prove himself in the league. The Los Angeles Clippers currently have a solid starting five and not the best place for Wilcox to develop his career.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers are set to acquire Devin Marble from the Orlando Magic. Since Marble is much cheaper than Wilcox, the Magic added the 2020 second-round pick and a cash consideration. The Clippers were struggling to acquire draft assets and the pick will surely be on good use in the future.

However, there are speculations that Devin Marble will not stay that long with the Los Angeles Clippers. Marble, 56th pick in the 2014 NBA draft, is entering the final season of his three-year contract. The Clippers currently in need of a roster spot to reserve for a certain player.

There are rumors spreading that the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics are in trade talks involving Blake Griffin. If the trade deal will proceed, the Celtics will surely give at least two starters together with two first-round picks in order to acquire the Clippers superstar.
