The Miami Heat is still undecided whether they will let Chris Bosh play for the 2016-17 NBA season. According to the latest NBA rumors, the Heat will be trading Bosh to the Denver Nuggets for Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler.
Chris Bosh remains uncertain to play next season from the time he was sidelined due blood clot issues. However, reports said that there is a growing optimism in Miami that the 32-year-old power forward will be cleared to play.
According to Barry Jackson of Miami Herald, the Heat management could possibly let Bosh continue playing basketball while on blood thinners.
However, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra wants his team to ‘run more’ to maximize the effectivenes of Hassan Whiteside, Goran Dragic, and Justise Winslow.
“When you’re pushing the tempo and attacking, that’s a fun style…. It will only make sense for us to maximize Goran’s strengths, Hassan’s strengths, Justise Winslow’s strengths. Their strengths are their speed, their athleticism.. Young players gravitate to Goran. They want to play that style.” Spoelstra said.
In this case, it seems like Chris Bosh will not be the best fit for the Heat’s new strategy. Since the issues between Bosh and the Heat sparked, there were rumors that the 32-year-old power forward will be traded to other teams. Several NBA teams were linked to Bosh, including the Denver Nuggets.
Tim Hart of Denver Stiffs suggested for the Nuggets to trade Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler to acquire Chris Bosh from the Miami Heat. This trade works in the ESPN trade machine. The Nuggets currently have a young roster and there are speculations that the team wants to add a veteran who can mentor their young talent.
For the Heat, acquiring Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler will enable them to run a fast-paced offense without risking the health of Chris Bosh. Faried and Chandler can fill up the forward spots if Bosh is traded.
“Chandler would bring a well-rounded game offensive game, similar to Bosh’s. Faried would supply the shot blocking and rebounding abilities required to make up for the veteran’s absence.” Hart wrote.
With the departure of Dwyane Wade, the Miami Heat are set to rely their future on young players like Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic. Trading Chris Bosh now could be beneficial for the Heat, especially if they want to continue being a playoff contender in the succeeding years.
